The fairgrounds are in Syracuse, just over an hour away from our home. It hosts the Great New York State Fair, an annual celebration of epic proportions that takes place over the final weeks of summer. Apparently this year, Jonah and I decided to go on the busiest day ever. I’m not exaggerating, yesterday (when we went) was a record with 120,617. We arrived shortly after lunch and left shortly before dinner, which was plenty of time to take in our favorites.
The pig and potato parfait was incredible, in case you were wondering. As was the fried Oreo. We also saw our state senator, learned about Iroquois (and other area tribes) history. It was impressive, and overwhelming, and I look forward to going again next year!
